# Monitor Kubernetes Status

Monitor Kubernetes cluster and node pool status in IONOS CLOUD: view and inspect managed resources, servers, and node configurations in the DCD.

Kubernetes is organized in clusters and node pools. The node pools are created in the context of a cluster. The servers belonging to the node pool are provisioned into the [Virtual Data Center (VDC)](https://docs.ionos.com/cloud/support/general-information/glossary-of-terms#virtual-data-center-vdc). All servers within a node pool are identical in their configuration.

Nodes, also known as worker nodes, are the servers in your data center that are managed by Kubernetes and constitute your node pools. All **Resources** managed by Kubernetes in your data centers will be displayed by the DCD as **read-only**.

You can view, inspect, and position the managed resources according to your requirements. However, the specifications of the resources are locked for manual interactions to avoid undesirable results. You can use the DCD to modify the managed resources. You can manage the following resource types based on your deployed pods and configurations:

* Servers
* [Network Interface Card (NIC)](https://docs.ionos.com/cloud/support/general-information/glossary-of-terms#network-interface-card-nic)
* [Local Area Network (LAN)](https://docs.ionos.com/cloud/support/general-information/glossary-of-terms#local-area-network-lan)
* [IP addresses](https://docs.ionos.com/cloud/support/general-information/glossary-of-terms#ip-address)

The Inspector pane in the DCD allows navigation across managed resources, such as data centers, clusters, and node pools. Here, you can:

* Switch to the Managed Kubernetes clusters and select the respective node pool.
* Download the `kubeconfig` to access the cluster.
* List all nodes in the data center belonging to the same node pool.

For more information, see [Download Kubeconfig](/cloud/containers/managed-kubernetes/how-tos/download-kubeconfig-file.md).

## Cluster Status

All operations related to the infrastructure of clusters can be performed using the DCD, including cluster and node creation and scaling of node pools. The status of a cluster is indicated by different statuses.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://docs.ionos.com/cloud/containers/managed-kubernetes/overview/monitor-kubernetes-status.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
