# Limitations

This section lists the limitations of Cross Connect:

* Ensure all [<mark style="color:blue;">NICs</mark>](https://docs.ionos.com/cloud/support/general-information/glossary-of-terms#network-interface-card-nic) used for the Cross Connect connection are within the same IP range. You may also consider using your own DHCP server as an option. For the time being, we recommend that you verify the IP addresses of the VDCs manually. <code class="expression">space.vars.ionos\_cloud</code> is constantly working to improve the existing products and implement an automatic check to verify the IP addresses automatically in the future.
* An [<mark style="color:blue;">IP address</mark>](https://docs.ionos.com/cloud/support/general-information/glossary-of-terms#internet-protocol-ip-address) may not be used in more than one instance.
* You can use a Cross Connect to connect between **all** your VDCs in the following regions only: `gb/lhr`, `de/txl`, and `de/fra`. Other regions may have restrictions on the connectable VDCs.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://docs.ionos.com/cloud/network-services/cross-connect/overview/limitations.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
