# Disable IPv6

IONOS CLOUD VDC Networking: disable IPv6 on a LAN or NIC in the DCD

To disable IPv6 for LANs in the Data Center Designer (DCD), follow these steps:

1\. In the **DCD**, go to **Menu** > **Virtual Data Centers**.

2\. Select the VDC and the LAN for which you want to disable the IPv6 address, and select the **Members** tab.

3\. Clear **IPV6 enabled**.

4\. Select **PROVISION CHANGES** to begin provisioning.

The Virtual Data Center (VDC) is provisioned with the new network settings. On disabling IPv6 on a LAN, existing IPv6 configuration on the Network Interface Card (NICs) will be removed or deleted.
