# Merge Private LANs

1\. In the **DCD**, go to **Menu** > **Virtual Data Centers**.

2\. Select the data center where the LANs must be merged.

3\. In the Workspace, right-click on the LAN that you want to merge.

4\. Select **Merge LAN with another LAN**.

5\. In the dialog that appears, select the LANs to be merged with the selected LAN and choose **Keep** (LAN name).

6\. Select **Keep other LAN** (which upon selection dynamically changes to **Keep (LAN name)**) to keep the specific LANs separate.

7\. Select **Merge LANs**.

8\. (Optional) Make further changes to your data center.

9\. Provision your changes.

**Result:** The selected LANs are merged and the new IP addresses are assigned to the NICs in the newly integrated LAN.

**Important:** A private LAN that is integrated into a public LAN also becomes a public LAN.
