Direct Backup to Public Cloud

circle-check
  • Advanced Backup now focuses on the specialized use of cloud storage for cases where you wish to store your backup data in a storage destination outside the core Backup Service. It is automatically activated the moment you assign a backup plan to an instance and select Object Storage as the backup target.

    • The name of the pack has changed to Direct Backup to Public Cloud.

    • If you already have a backup plan that uses Object Storage and it was configured before January 22, 2026, nothing changes for you. Your plan will continue to operate exactly as it does today.

    • Pricing for Direct Backup to Public Cloud will remain the same as it was for Advanced Backup.

    • For the time being, the item will continue to appear on your invoice under the familiar name Advanced Backup.

  • All of the capabilities listed below were previously included in the Advanced Backup pack and have now been integrated into the regular backup offering. These features are part of the functional scope of Acronis Cyber Protect and no longer require the Advanced Backup pack.

    • One-click recovery

    • Continuous data protection

    • Backup support for Microsoft SQL

    • Server clusters and Microsoft Exchange clusters – Always On Availability Groups (AAG) and Database Availability Groups (DAG)

    • Backup support for MariaDB, MySQL, Oracle DB, and SAP HANA

    • Data protection map and compliance reporting

    • Off-host data processing

    • Remote operations with bootable media

circle-info

If you have backup plans that use any of the migrated features and those backup plans were created before 22 January 2026, nothing changes. The features are switched automatically to the standard backup service, and your backup plans will continue to work exactly as they do today. The Advanced Backup pack will be removed from your subscription as of 22 January, 2026. Consequently, you will no longer be charged for this pack after that date. The January 2026 invoice will be the final invoice that contains any Advanced Backup‑pack fees. Those fees will be prorated up to the day the migration takes effect.
