Advanced Backup
Migration of Features into Standard Acronis Cyber Protect: With the Acronis Cyber Protect release on January 22, 2026, Acronis has migrated and updated most of the features previously included in Advanced Backup within the regular Acronis Cyber Protect. Please read the text below for further details.
The Advanced Backup pack is required to store your Backup data in Object Storage. It is automatically activated the moment you assign a backup plan to an instance and select Object Storage as the backup target.
If you already have a backup plan that uses Object Storage and it was configured before January 22, 2026, nothing changes for you. Your plan will continue to operate exactly as it does today. Only the name "Advanced Backup" was changed to "Direct Backup to Public Cloud". Pricing for Advanced Backup will not change.
All of the capabilities listed below were previously included in the Advanced Backup pack and have now been integrated into the regular backup offering. These features are part of the standard backup service and no longer require the Advanced Backup pack.
One-click recovery
Continuous data protection
Backup support for Microsoft SQL
Server clusters and Microsoft Exchange clusters – Always On Availability Groups (AAG) and Database Availability Groups (DAG)
Backup support for MariaDB, MySQL, Oracle DB, and SAP HANA
Data protection map and compliance reporting
Off-host data processing
Remote operations with bootable media
If you have backup plans that use any of the migrated features and those plans were created before 22 January 2026, nothing changes. The features are switched automatically to the standard backup service, and your plans will continue to work exactly as they do today. The Advanced Backup pack will be removed from your subscription as of 22 January, 2026. Consequently, you will no longer be charged for the pack after that date. The January 2026 invoice will be the final invoice that contains any Advanced Backup‑pack fees. Those fees will be prorated up to the day the migration takes effect.
