# list

List objects (keys) in a bucket

## Usage

```
ionosctl object-storage object list [flags]
```

## Aliases

For `object-storage` command:

```
[os]
```

For `object` command:

```
[obj]
```

For `list` command:

```
[l ls]
```

## Description

List the objects in a bucket, showing each key with its size, storage class, last-modified time and ETag.

Only CURRENT objects are listed - on a versioning-enabled bucket, older versions and delete markers are not shown here. Keys are returned in lexicographic (alphabetical) order.

\--prefix restricts the listing to keys that start with a given string. Because "/" in a key is just a naming convention, a trailing-slash prefix like photos/ acts as a pseudo-folder filter.

\--max-keys caps how many objects are returned; the command paginates transparently under the hood (in pages of up to 1000) until it has that many or the bucket is exhausted. Pass 0 to return every object in the bucket with no cap.

## Options

```
      --cols strings      Set of columns to be printed on output
                          Available columns: [Key Size LastModified StorageClass ETag]
  -c, --config string     Configuration file used for authentication (default "$XDG_CONFIG_HOME/ionosctl/config.yaml")
A facility inside one of these metro regions (e.g. de/fra/1) is also accepted and served by its metro region's endpoint. Defaults to eu-central-3
      --max-keys int32    Maximum number of objects to return; the command paginates transparently to reach it. Use 0 for no limit (list the entire bucket). Default: 1000 (default 1000)
## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.
Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:
```
GET https://docs.ionos.com/cloud/tools-cli/subcommands/object-storage/object/list.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```
`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.
The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.
Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
