# Cross Connect

IONOS Cross Connect feature helps you to establish a dedicated connection between [Virtual Data Centers (VDCs)](https://docs.ionos.com/support/general-information/glossary-of-terms#virtual-data-center-vdc) located in a specific region (location) using a private LAN. A region (location) refers to a selectable VDC location via the Cloud API or the [Data Center Designer (DCD)](https://docs.ionos.com/support/general-information/glossary-of-terms#data-center-designer-dcd). These regions are represented in the form of codes, such as, de/fra, de/txl, es/vit etc.

{% hint style="info" %}
**Note**: Cross Connect is generally available in the Frankfurt region.
{% endhint %}

{% hint style="warning" %}
**Note:** Cross Connect is currently in the [**Early Access (EA)**](https://docs.ionos.com/support/general-information/glossary-of-terms#early-access-ea) phase in all regions **except Frankfurt** and is available on a restricted early access basis. To access this feature, please contact your sales representative or [customer support](https://docs.ionos.com/support/general-information/contact-information). We recommend keeping usage and testing to non-production critical applications as there might be possibilities of data loss during the [EA](https://docs.ionos.com/support/general-information/glossary-of-terms#early-access-ea) phase. Cross Connect is free-to-use and does not incur any additional costs. Cross Connect has its own set of limitations in the EA phase. For more information, see [Limitations of Cross Connect](/cloud/~/revisions/AMiYziCllTKB2y2lmONY/network-services/cross-connect/overview/limitations.md).

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://docs.ionos.com/cloud/~/revisions/AMiYziCllTKB2y2lmONY/network-services/cross-connect.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
