# Add Internet Access

IONOS Cloud DHCP servers automatically assign public IP addresses to the [Servers](https://docs.ionos.com/cloud/support/general-information/glossary-of-terms#server) with internet access. Multiple servers sharing the same internet interface also share the same subnet. With required permissions, you can add as many internet access elements as you wish.

If you do not have permission to add a new internet access element, you can connect to an existing element in your VDC, provided you have permission to edit it. Alternatively, you can use the IONOS Cloud Managed NAT Gateway to enable internet access for [Virtual Machines (VMs)](https://docs.ionos.com/cloud/support/general-information/glossary-of-terms#virtual-machine-vm) without exposing them to the internet through a public interface.

1\. In the **DCD**, go to **Menu** > **Virtual Data Centers**.

2\. Select the data center to configure internet.

3\. Drag the **Internet** element from the Palette onto the Workspace.

4\. Connect this element with **Servers**.

5\. Set further properties of the connection at the respective NIC.
