# Split Private LANs

1\. In the **DCD**, go to **Menu** > **Virtual Data Centers**.

2\. Select the data center to split your LANs.

3\. In the Workspace, right-click on the LAN that you want to split.

4\. Select **Split LAN**.

5\. In the dialog that appears, select the LANs to be split.

6\. Select **Split LAN**.

7\. Make further changes to your data center and provision your changes when ready.

**Result:** The selected LAN is split and the new IP addresses are assigned to the NICs in the new LAN.
