Database as a Service
IONOS's Database as a Service (DBaaS) consists of fully managed databases, with high availability, performance, and reliability hosted in IONOS Cloud and integrated with other IONOS Cloud services.
Database Engines
We currently offer the following database engines:
In-Memory DB
IONOS DBaaS gives you access to the capabilities of In-Memory DB instances. Using IONOS DBaaS, you can manage In-Memory DB instances, scale the database, patch your database, create backups, and provide security.
MariaDB
With the help of IONOS DBaaS, you may use the functionalities of the MariaDB database engine to scale database resources in the cloud flexibly, improve security, patch the database, and provide redundancy and backups.
MongoDB
IONOS DBaaS lets you quickly set up and manage MongoDB database clusters. Using IONOS DBaaS, you can manage MongoDB clusters, along with their scaling, security and creating snapshots for backups. The feature offers the following editions of MongoDB to meet your enterprise-level deployments: Playground, Business, and Enterprise. For more information, see Overview.
PostgreSQL
IONOS DBaaS gives you access to the capabilities of the PostgreSQL database engine. Using IONOS DBaaS, you can manage PostgreSQL cluster operations, database scaling, patch your database, create backups, and security.
Resource allocation
In the DCD > Databases, the database resources allocated as per your user contract are displayed in the Resource Allocation. The resources refer to the Postgres Clusters, MongoDB Clusters, MariaDB Clusters, CPUs, Cores, RAM, and Storage databases quota:
16 CPU Cores
32 GB RAM
1500 GB Disk Space
10 database clusters
5 nodes within a cluster
Note: A single instance of your database cluster cannot exceed 16 cores and 32GB RAM.
You can view the number of resources that are available and can be used, as well as the number of resources already consumed. Based on the resources available here, you can allocate resources during the creation of a database cluster. For resource allocation, contact IONOS Cloud Support.
