DCD How-Tos

You can configure a Cross Connect via the DCD and associate it with multiple VDCs to establish a connection between them via a private LAN.

Prerequisites

• Contract owners and administrators can create, access, manage, and use Cross Connect without additional permissions. However, non-admin users need relevant access to create and manage Cross Connect. For more information, see Set Up User Privileges for Cross Connect.

• Before you connect data centers, ensure they:

  • belong to the same region and contract. Prior to connecting, remember to provision your data centers.

  • have the same IP address range.

• Ensure that the IP address is tied to only one instance.

• The LANs to be used for the connection should be private LANs. The private NICs to be connected should have unique IP addresses that belong to the same IP range.
